DREAM ACHIEVED I AM NOW A QUALIFED PERSONAL TRAINER

WELL I DID IT I PULLED IT OFF NOT ONLY DID I PULL IT OFF I HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! I HAVE ACHIEVED BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS!!

For those of you who follow along first of all thank you so much I love you all, secondly you’d have been following my journey of my evolution from  a Full Time Soldier, to a Stay at Home Mum (who got bored), to my latest adventure studying at the Institute of Fitness to becoming a Personal Trainer! Well after 12 long weeks of blood, sweat, tears, child care fees, toilet training, late nights studying, a new puppy, self doubt, assignment after assignment, hour drive in and hour drive out to the Institute of Fitness each day, daily assessments and completing 30 hours of work experience I can proudly announce that I am now  a Fully Qualified Personal Trainer!!!

I WAS ALSO AWARDED INSTITUTE ENERGIZER FOR THE COURSE I STILL CAN’T GET OVER IT!!

Not only did I manage to run a house hold with my husband away, keep three kids alive, and a dam dog, keep sane (somewhat), get everyone dropped off where they needed to be each day on time, including myself, not miss one day of the course (including missing my Daughters first day of school), BUT I TOOK OUT THE ENERGIZER AWARD!!! OMG I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE IT!!!!! Go you 34 year old mother of three kicking those little young childless 18 year old’s butts (I still luv you guys) !

I am now living proof that if you want something badly enough you really can achieve anything. It really did seem impossible but I remember sitting right here in front of the computer thinking “I’d really like to become a Personal Trainer and do the course, but how can I am 34 year’s old, I’ve got the three kids to look after, my husband is always away it would be impossible. Well it always seems impossible until it’s done. My advice to you is stop talking yourself out of things you still want to do. You still have time and there still is away you just have to make it happen. Things wont come to you, you really have to go out and make them happen. You, like me, may even surprise yourself with just how amazing you can be and what you can achieve if you really put your mind to it and apply yourself. To me the definition of success used to mean achieving what others said you can’t, now it’s achieving what you told yourself you can’t. I did it, and it’s not too late for you to do your thing. There will never be a more perfect time than to start now.

Have You Ever Had A Pedicure?

I don’t do girly and I don’t go to a beauty saloon, I  really only visit the hairdresser, but in summer there is one thing I like to do. I love getting a pedicure, I just love it. There is just something about painted toenails that screams summer to me. So yesterday while I had the chance I nipped in to a nail bar and snuck one in. Yes I paid someone $25 for 25 minutes of peace and quiet, whilst having my calves and feet massaged and toenails painted while I sat there and people watched while pretending I was Paris Hilton. Money well spent I say, and so would Paris.

I always paint my toenails yet what ever brand I use it always ends up chipping off and looking shabby. When you get your toes done by a pro it lasts for ages and doesn’t chip. I am a play it safe pink kind of girl, today I may have played it too safe as it is very subtle but that’s a bit like me I guess! One day I will go loud, the girl next to me had fluro green I nearly fell out of my massage chair, I am so not a fluro green girl. Anyway, point I wanted to make is if you have a chance get your toes done, it doesn’t take long and always makes your feet look great in your summer thongs. $25 small price to pay for a foot rub and a toe makeover, to get ready for summer time! Remember to do things for yourself as well as the entire family!

Don’t Let A Bad Day Feel Like You Have A Bad Life

It’s been a long four months let me tell you. It’s a tough gig being at home with three people under the age of 9. So when my Mum offered to have all three kids for Saturday night as if I was going to say no! I packed their little sleepover bags, and got them ready. As soon as I had received loads of boogie nose kisses and they drove off waving, I raced inside grabbed my bag and shoes and headed out to hit the shops kid free!!!!

I had been dying to go shopping, there are a few things I really wanted to get and it is always so hard dragging Mr One along everywhere I go. He get’s tired around 11am and needs to go to bed and that’s around my peek shopping mood time so we clash, he wins, we go home, he goes to bed. No new clothes for me.

First I headed to the food court as I was starving, grabbed something to eat and a coffee to go as I had some serous shopping to do! The first store I went to I was ready, I loaded up with some shorts to try on and as I picked up a cute skirt, to this moment I still don’t understand how it happened, my hot coffee fell out of my hand, down my front and splashed all over the shop floor. Let’s just say it was too hot to drink and now was running all down the front of my only white summer dress I have ever owned! This is why Mum’s shouldn’t wear white! Really did that just happen, shut up! I kind of stood there for a moment thinking that can’t happen. But the hot liquid all down my front told me otherwise. It was a case of put down anything I thought I was going to try on, find a shop lady break it to her the mess I had just made, and get my coffee stained self out of there. It was dripping down my legs at this point!

I was devastated. I am kid free, I am in a shopping centre, I have been dying to go shopping, I am covered in brown. After contemplating just buying something to change in to, I was defeated and it was a quick very embarrassing dash to the car fighting back tears. I got in the car and still couldn’t believe it, my life is sh*t, all I wanted to do was go shopping, for ages, kid free shopping, now I need to get home asap. There is no one to hug me and say don’t worry about it, there is no one to tell me how to get coffee out of white material. There is also no point crying over spilt coffee right! Ha ha just thought of that then. Get home, change, it’s now 4pm, days done. Put my PJs on, make myself a chicken salad sit down to watch some TV (can’t remember the last time I sat and ate or watched uninterrupted TV). Phone rings, can I pick up Little Miss 4 she is feeling sick and thinks she might vomit.

OMG, really. Get dressed. Reconsidered crying about spilt coffee. Picked up Little Miss Sick and spent the evening watching TV with her. Realising shopping is over rated and it was nice to just have sometime with Little Miss 4. I guess the message I wanted to share is summed up in the title, just because you are having a bad day, doesn’t mean you have a bad life. I have bad days, life looks beautiful, carefree and easy on my blog, but I have bad days too but the trick is to remember it is only a day!

If Your Dreams Don’t Scare You They Aren’t Big Enough

Today this little stay at home Mother of 3, bit over that title, did something really scary and I think it’s worth sharing with my Yummy Mummies because I am 100% sure you will very much be able to relate in some way. Let me bring you up to date in case you are new….. I had been in the Army for all my adult life, then I gave up my career to raise the kids 3 years ago. In that time I reluctanly became a stay at home Mum and even had another baby. It took me 3 whole years to find my feet again, to work out where to from here and what I actually wanted to do with my life. I can’t quite explain it, but I want to better myself and help others, I know vomit right but it’s kind of true. That’s the reason behind this blog, helping others. Now I want to take it one step further and maybe even turn it in to my dream job. They say do what you love and love what you do, but I have spent 3 years not knowing what to do next, now I know so I am going after it.

The thing I am most passionate about is health and fitness, as seen on my blog. Last year it occurred to me that I wanted to become a Personal Trainer. I was very motivated and jumped on the phone to learn about my options. They just didn’t aline with my home life, with my husband away all the time, with a one year old, one needing Kindy drop offs and one needing school drop offs. So I kissed good bye my dream and put that energy in to the blog. Well I got the Personal Trainer bug again, it kind of occurred to me, had I just done it I would now be a Personal Trainer with a years experience, not just a Mum with a dream. So I made the calls again but this time with the attitude that I know its going to be hard, and I am going to have to make some sacrifices and work my arse off to achieve it, BUT I’M GOING TO DO IT!

I’ve been selfless for too long, so now for an 8 week course that starts in January 2013 I am going to be selfish and get this thing done. It will however mean organising and paying for before and possibly after school care for the bigger two, and child care for Mr One. I understand that it will be difficult but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t do it. Often the difficult decision is the right one, and this is the right one for me.

If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough! Life is outside your comfort zone, inside it you are just exsiting. With small children it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel but it’s there and you know it is, but it’s just too easy to get stuck in a Mummy rutt. I am a stay at home Mother of three, who is selfish enough or brave enough to have a dream and go after it. Plus it is also going to be great for the blog, I love giving out fitness and health tips but having this qualification I feel will give my advice more cred, so watch this space ladies, it’s all happening. Start thinking about some things you could be doing or want to do but think it’s all too hard. It’s not too hard, it’s not going to be easy but sh*t it’s going to be worth it.

How Do You Stay Married To The Same Person Forever?

Yesterday was my parents 37th Wedding Anniversary! Congrats Mum and Dad (for not killing each other!!!) there were a few times there when I thought it was gonna happen!!

OMG 37 years of wet towels on the bed, toilets seats left up, snoring, reading on the toilet, ball scratching, bedroom eyes, then falling asleep right after, morning breath, dishwasher stacked in the most ridiculous way, work bag on the floor in the door way, walking in the door and saying “what’s for tea” (not Hello), using all my body wash, taking up more room in the bed, wasting money on motor bike parts, playing stupid playstation games for hours, not vacuuming under things, bum pinching, boob grabbing, selective hearing, you’re hearing me aren’t you!!! Well that’s what it’s been like for the almost 14 years I’ve been married. To even be married for 14 years these days is the old 20 years!

To be honest the hardest part about being a Mum, isn’t dealing with vomit or high temps at 2am, it’s not making life altering educational decisions for your children, it’s not managing the bills, or working or what you would think it is. It is in fact being a wife. Being a wife is harder than being a Mum. Anyone can be a Mum, it’s different as the baby you mother is a part of you and you have been given a genetic life long inherited connection. However becoming a wife is a choice, and you see people getting it wrong all the time, look a J-Lo she can shake her arse but sh*t she must be high maintenance she’s like on her 5th victim!

All you need it love right, but how do you stay in love with someone for 37 years? It becomes habit I guess, it becomes the way you have only ever known, it becomes your whole adult life. I got engaged at 19 and married at 20, so young, but I don’t think that’s such a bad thing. There is nothing I haven’t done because of it, it just meant we did everything together. Mum and Dad got married back in the good old days when if something was broken you fixed it not replaced it, guess that has something to do with their lasting union. Both my grandparents took the ’till death do we part’ serious too and did just that spending their entire adult lives married to each other.

To get married is the easy part, finding the right person is the hard part. How do you know you have the right person, you just know. You know because there is no one else you would want to be with, there is no one else who could make you the kind of happy or feel the way your person does. That part of you shuts down, when you have found the one, you don’t even notice others. To make it, you need to work at it, it’s not going to be easy, it’s going to be really hard but you will want to work on it because you want it to work. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter where you go in your life what you do or how much you have it matters who you have next to you. Mum and Dad not sure how you do it, I’m still learning but sh*t 37 years is just, wow!

How To Become A Doer Instead Of A Dreamer

There is one thing I have figured out over the years, there are Doer’s and there are Dreamer’s. There is Oprah and there is her next door neighbour when she was 18, I guess the neighbour just dreamt of taking over the world, Oprah actually had a go at it (I can’t back that up but you get what I mean). I wanted to start a Mum blog, I knew nothing about blogging, and I am not IT savvy, I have just fumbled my way through it because I wanted to be a Doer. Today I am sharing with you some other stay at home Mum’s who have had a go at an idea they had and actually acted on rather than dreamt about. Hopefully it may motivate you to start something you have been dreaming about but talk yourself out of.

Sue Ismiel – Nad’s Wax. To go to the extreme, there is Australia’s Sue Ismiel, as a stay at home Mum who created Nad’s wax in her kitchen to remove unwanted hair. She then started selling her product at markets and fast forward 20 years is exporting globally and her whole family is involved with the company. I was invited to Sue’s latest product launch as a Blogger to review the product and to enter her competition to become Nad’s First Blogging Ambassador. I am proud to say I was a semi finalist in her comp, not bad for a baby blogger. Here is my post on attending the product launch here (read it this will make more sense).

Bec Platt – Coloured Pears. This is my gorgeous sister-in-law who has recently become a stay-at-home Mum after having her first bub. She had a background in design and became a Doer when she and her Mum set up Coloured Pears where they sell beautiful art work. Have a look here for her work. Coloured Pears.

Paula Bunt – Red Elm. My beautiful friend has just started making and selling handmade girls clothing. Self taught Paula loves to sew creating little outfits and became a Doer when she decided to offer them for sale.  A stay at home Mum to two she has just made her debut as a business selling her pieces.                   Have a look here for her work. Red Elm

Kim Manno – Can Do Cakes. A friend I made at the gym, a stay at home Mum to three last year started her own cake making business. Kim makes great cakes and each new one I see I think how does she do that!           Have a look here for her work Can do Cakes

So here are just four examples (5 if you include me) of stay at home Mum’s who had an idea, but rather than just think about it, actually went out and made it happen. I think I need to think of something better as I don’t make a cent from this stinking blog! If you have an idea, dream or concept, take the leap of faith and turn yourself in to a Doer and your idea into a reality. Don’t be scared any longer, the only one holding you back is yourself and once you learn that you will learn that you can in fact do anything you put your mind to. Just because you are a stay at home Mum now doesn’t mean that’s all you are, if you have an idea, or a dream don’t be scared to turn it in to a reality.

500 Liker’s Shut Up, Really?

First of all Facebook sucks at Math. Yesterday morning I had 499 liker’s, I’ve since had 3 new liker’s and I somehow have 500 liker’s.

When I started this little pink blog, my goal was to inspire as many women as possible. I wanted to see Mum’s everywhere using my ideas as a foundation to build a good solid organised routine and a healthy, active lifestyle for their families and most importantly themselves. The blog is now eight months old and has touched hundreds of readers, but I still have my heart set on growing our online community.

My dream of reaching even more women has just become more attainable after I was voted number 17 in the Top 25 Australian Mum Blogs for 2012. I am looking forward to the potential exposure to more Yummy Mummies. To make me even more prouder today I reached 500 liker’s, when I started my pie in the sky dream was to reach 100 liker’s, I never thought I would reach so many people. I’ve come a long way far exceeding my initial expectations.

I started the blog with an organisation type focus but I found I kept wanting to blog about health and lifestyle as that is where my true interests lie. Your feedback has been great, I always look forward to reading comments, emails or messages on Facebook. The blog takes a lot of work, I had underestimated just how much work would go in to it, taking photos, finding new things of interest to blog about, asking myself ‘Is anyone even reading?’. For those of you who read and comment I want to let you know you’ll be getting the same great posts you have come to expect.

Thank you for your support. It has been an incredible experience reaching out and getting back from so many women and I hope to continue to make Belle Amie Mother of Three one of your favourite blogs for years to come, OK I can’t back that up but you know what I mean. THANK YOU FOR READING, LIKING and I think you should share my Blog with your other Yummy Mummy sisters, sister-in-laws, friends, girls from work, chicks at your gym, play group, mothers group all of them I want to take over the world and met Oprah, too far?    Tell me on Facebook what you would like to read more about!

Lots of Love

10 Things You Don’t Know About Me

1. I joined the Army 16 years ago today. I was 18 just out of High School it was all I ever wanted to do, I have no regrets and have had a ball, have met awesome people along the way.

2. I am a chocoholic if I bring a block of chocolate in to the house, I will eat the entire thing that night, I just can’t stop myself.

3. When I was 15 I had my rebellious stage, sneaking in and out of my window, just like (Puberty Blues). I was a cow to my parents, no wonder they made me join the Army.

4. I’d rather be behind the camera, I love taking beautiful photos, but I absolutely hate having my photo taken.

5. My biggest fear is the dentist, in April last year I was meant to have a wisdom tooth removed, it’s still in there, I’m too scared. I had a root canal procedure done once and my jaw got stuck open, I’ve been terrified ever since.

6. I sometimes miss my old life, before I became a stay at home Mum to three kids. Life get’s hectic and I have a problem with asking for help, there is a perception I am some kind of Super Mum, it’s not true.

7. My friends and family call me Ren, nobody calls me Renee, unless I’m in trouble. When I was 18 I had personalised number plates RENS18!! Only cool for that 12 months!

8. I have a hard time saying ‘No’ to people, if someone asks me to do something even if I don’t want to I always say ‘yes’.

9. I am the eldest of four girls, I always wanted a brother. I would say my three sisters are my best friends.

10. When I was a kid I played softball, I was the catcher, the faster the pitcher the more fun it was!

Ten things you didn’t know about me!

Push Up Bra Get One In Every Colour

So here is something it probably didn’t really need science to prove, they could have just asked me but I recently read how a study has proven women in a push up bra feel 75% more confident. That’s huge, so are your boobs when wearing one of these creations! Apparently the first academic study of its kind was led by scientists at Manchester University wow hard day at the office there.

So I am passing on the science of what I have stumbled across, and the first hand experience that the right push up bra can make you look a million bucks and better than that, make you feel it. You forgot you had boobs didn’t you, having a baby suck the life out them will do that to you. Next time you are out and about get your hands on a push up bra, and get your boobs in to one. If it is going to make you feel 75% more confident, hey science backs this up, then it is worth the effort.

Just because you have kids, doesnt mean you have given up your right to be sexy, or feel sexy. This isn’t about getting your cleavage out at the school pick up, it’s about remembering that you are a woman, that you have breasts and don’t be afraid to use them. I swear I was the last girl in the entire high school to get boobs and boy did I get teased, so now I’ve pumped out a few kids and I’ve got these things they go alright in the old push up bra. No one has to see it, them, you are not doing this for others to gawk at you are doing this for your own self esteem, who knows when that day will come and one of your buttons has somehow popped open on your shirt, you want to be ready for that day with a decent bra on! It makes a huge difference to you knowing whats under your clothes, wear something nice on the inside and feel great on the outside.

Nad’s Nose Wax Product Launch Lunch

Earlier this week I was invited to attend a product launch as a Blogger, yep as a Blogger, check me out!! Fake it until you make it, that’s how I’ve been running this blog thing and to be invited to something like this for me was a bit exciting! It was a product launch for Sue Ismiel’s company Nad’s Wax, you’ve probably all heard of it and even tried one of her many products at some stage. See Sue is a mother of three daughters whom with their middle eastern background gave them lots of dark body hair. So SuperMum Sue spent 12 months in her kitchen working on a product to use on her daughters that would solve this hairy problem.

She finally came up with a safe, natural product that worked so well she took it to markets, where it eventually exploded becoming the entire families business and is now being exported to other countries. What was so interesting for me about this product launch was being able to met the founder Sue in person and hear her wonderful success story that really could happen to anyone, if you chose to be a dooer!

Nad’s Wax is celebrating 20 years of fuzz free happy customers, and top of that they have a new product about to hit the shelves. A world first safe way to remove nose hair. Not that I had given nose hair any real thought but I guess it could be quite embarrassing but fear not as now their is a safe way to remove it privately. OK so yes I tried it, how can I go to a product launch, blog about it and not try it! It really didn’t hurt and you can breath noticeable better after, don’t panic it doesn’t touch the cilia filter hair’s higher up, just the ones that start growing with age and catch boogers in them!!!

NAD’S NOSE WAX GIVE AWAY

Sue was wonderful enough to give me four Nose Wax packs for me to give away to my hairy Yummy Mummies! So if you would like to win one in my first ever give away leave a comment below telling me why! As this is my rock show I get to pick the nose that will win!! Good luck, bad luck for your nose hairs!!!
