So you know I am a fan of all things healthy and I am always on the look out for new ways to put little pieces of health in my fridge so that when I am bored or I do get the munchies I have things that are good for me ready to go. I’ve been playing around with the idea of protein balls lately and I am loving them so much that I wanted to share the concept with you all. They are nothing new they are all over the net, they are new to me and have really been hitting the spot.
I have a real sweet tooth, anything chocolate and anything sweet doesn’t stand a chance in my house. I was on the look out for something sweet, easy and healthy that didn’t cost much. So I had a go at protein balls and they have been great at stopping me from pigging out on chocolate. Check it out
Super Mum Protein Balls
2 Table Spoons Peanut Butter
1/2 Cup Vanilla or Chocolate Protein Powder
1 Cup Linseed, Sunflower & Almond Meal (LSA)
Hand full slithered almonds
Pop it all in a bowl, mix it up, add a few table spoons of almond milk to make it moist. Roll the mix in to balls and roll in coconut, or anything you like.
They are really easy to make, the recipe isn’t an exact science you can add anything you like, cocoa, coconut oil, chia seeds, anything. Just don’t add any sugar or biscuit’s anything processed. You can add dried fruit, you can add different seeds and nuts. You can even leave out the protein and call them Vitamin E balls because of all the almonds (which have their own natural protein in them too). So there you have it a yummy little snack for after a work out or when you feel like something yummy but don’t want to break out a muffin. Fiddle around with the recipe until you make it the way you like it. Just remember no sugar, honey or anything artificial or you will pig out on them and they will no longer be a healthy snack!

These look good. I will give them a go; definitely way cheaper than pre-packaged protein bars.

Tracey, Mine never last longer than a say 4 days as I have usually eaten them by then! Try freezing them and let me know I never even thought of that! R

I have made these and I can almost believe they are chocolate! Not quite, but almost. Anyway they take away the sweet craving, which is the important thing.
