My best advice for any new mother, I love love love this saying. It is everywhere you look and it always appears in shabby chic type decor, which I love. There are so many funny versions of this saying going around at the moment that are so funny. Like keep calm and keep blogging, keep calm and eat more cake or my favourite piece of advice, keep calm and Google it! I love it, I have it in a frame for those moments when the kids are driving me nuts, and I have 100 things to do in 20 minutes.
However what I didn’t know was that this cute little saying that so many people had been playing around with actually had some amazing history behind it. Keep Calm And Carry On was a poster made by the British Government in 1939 when WW2 started. It’s purpose was to raise the morale of the British public facing the cold hard truth of the event of an invasion. The posters were only printed in limited numbers and were never distributed as intended. Amazingly the poster was only rediscovered in 2000 and has since become so damn popular!
You have to watch this link from YouTube to understand it better, it really is a little lesson in history. I honestly just thought it was a cute British slogan, now I look at it so differently.
