I remember on my third day of being a first time Mum, making some toast in the patient kitchen area and a new Dad told me he had just had a girl and asked me when was I having mine! Well after I picked myself up off the floor I told him I had had my baby on Monday, it was now Wednesday! How was he to know, my belly looked like I was 8 months pregnant. I had just had a 9lbs14oz via c-section so I was sore and sensitive both emotionally and physically! He meant no harm but god that upset me that day, stupid looking back!
So here’s the scoop, you know how on TV they give birth and then their belly is back to normal, yeah well IT’S CRAP!! With each baby I have spat out, my gut has remained in the 8 month pregnant position for weeks after! If you are about to have a baby, my advice is do not look in the mirror naked for a few weeks, it’s just not worth the stress. However the good news it, it doesn’t have to be like this forever if you don’t want it to be, and I didn’t want it to be.
The baby that did the most damage to my belly was the smallest (if you can call 9lbs1oz small) as she sat sideways the entire time. I wish I had heard of what I am about to tell share with you with number 1 and 2, but I didn’t find it until number 3! Write this down, Belly Bandit!! It is a belly wrap that helps tighten and shrink your tummy post pregnancy, so it claimed, but by the third time and a 10lbs2oz baby you will try anything. I bought mine online and loved it, it was such great support for a c-section. I wore it everyday and every night only took it off to shower. It helps your abbs after they have been all cut up, it reminded me to stand up straight and support my belly, taught me how to hold my core again after someone had used it for nine months and someone had cut through it for a third time.
So if you have a bun in the oven right now Google Belly Bandit, I can’t remember which site I got mine from but you’ll find it. If you know of someone who has just had a baby, especially a c-section, tell them about it. They are expensive but worth every cent I say, please know this is not a paid review I just like sharing what I’ve learnt and what worked for me. This wrap also helps you get back in to your clothes sooner by holding in your belly, that would otherwise be hanging all over the place, yes girls you read right once that cute bump pops out is wobbles all round! All jokes aside don’t be upset once your bump climbs out, give your self time to heal and repair and don’t compare your belly to others. It will go down and if you make the effort and really look after your self you will be able to get your belly under control, eventually! It’s way too early to start exercise but it’s never too early or late to clean up what you put in your mouth.
